Contract Lighting Designer 

Requirements: 

• 2 year minimum working in an architectural lighting design office 

• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2007 including: 

• layer management 

• plotting and line weights 

• Architectural drawings and their relation to one another (sections, elevations, plans,     

RCPs, details, etc.) 

• Excellent attention to detail 

• Great time management skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Experience working with the following types of lighting deliverables and how they relate to each other: 

• Drawings 

• Specifications 

• Cutsheets 

• Load schedules 

• Mounting details 

• Budgets 

• Solid understanding of different lamp types and their applications  

• Efficiency in Adobe CS3 (we use InDesign, Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator) 

• AGI 3.2 or other lighting calculation software 

Primary Project Support Responsibilities: 

• Assist with day to day project management 

• Writing and editing specifications 

• Drafting, including AutoCAD 

• Lighting detail development 

• Preparing cut-sheets 

• Scanning images 

• Proofreading 

• Equipment research 

• Preparing cost estimates 

• Assistance with procuring samples and preparing lighting mockups 

• Interfacing with local sales representatives for lighting equipment 

• Project site visits and focusing
